A woman comes home.
She is finally feeling safe and sound.
So, she walks to her bed and begins to put her things down.
She takes her bag off and puts it down,
along with

the sound
of her boss’ voice squealing, wanting its way.
The hardness
of her cubicle’s furniture is finally replaced.
At last,
the smell
of everyone’s coffee and cologne in the air is no longer there.

So, she takes off the noted list of incomplete tasks of the day.
Then she takes off her other mask and wears a bare face.
She takes her stress off and finally fixes to rest.
The bed is still standing, it’s been waiting for
her to return to her nest.
