I wake up every day carrying the faith in me. I praise being different because that makes me rare and unique. I want my voice to be heard, I want my presence to count.

What a cruel world it is that we live in. A day never passes without trying my luck. Yes, I sometimes feel like giving up and letting it go. But is it worth letting all the hard work go to waste? No!

I was once one of those people who’d carry pride everywhere they went. I never knew the word “beg”. What hurts the most and is the most heart-breaking is that doors were shut right in my face. Sympathy is what they lacked. Once they got to the top they forget Ubuntu. How disappointing, letting down their trying youth. The one and only future leaders that carry the success of the world in their hands.

We will keep on trying, I assure you. As it is stated that, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

I beg my fellow Africans to write down my name somewhere as the day is nearing. I am talking about the day I will reap the benefits.

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” – Harriet Beecher Stowe
