The day lockdown ends would be like New Year’s day all over again. Hearing the people celebrate and seeing the wide bright smiles on their faces is one of my biggest desires. Being able to walk hand in hand with my girlfriend along the noisy streets is something I’ve dreamt of everyday.

Having an adrenaline rush while playing the best sport in the world is one of the best experiences ever. Hearing the crowds chanting my name, “Alec! Alec! Alec!”

The end of lockdown also means the beginning of crime. Just the thought of hearing about someone that has been murdered, raped or kidnapped saddens me. Together we as a country should stand together and say enough is enough!

Together we will overcome the coronavirus; we are South Africans after all.
