In a world as cruel as the underworld with the danger of the ocean in a storm, and as dark as the midnight sky, shone the presence of a woman like the heavens has opened. The world on her shoulders with the eyes of two little girls and an older girl watching her in admiration.

She was no ordinary woman, she was a mother. A plump large woman with the sweetest feminine voice. Skin as brown as the finest chocolate and the eyes of beautiful black pearls.

Going through hardship with her first. She was young and so called dumb for certain decisions that resides in her mind as long as her girls aren’t old enough to stand on their feet. Whether it being physically or figuratively she was always warm and smelled as sweet as cherry blossoms. Pushing and pushing her girls she was seen as somewhat cruel and sometimes unreasonable.

She was the Wonder Woman her girls believed the world needed. Not a woman in a bathing suit and a rope but a woman in full-on metal armour who wouldn’t be scared to lose an arm or her life fighting for the ones she loved. A strong woman with a mind as sharp as an arrow and soul as pure as a child.

At times she would have her moments where she was indeed wrong and nonetheless she would set aside her pride to apologise. As tough as it was she raised three girls. She was not a single mom, however not for long. 7 years after her first, she married her husband whom she had twins with.

She is a tough cookie to crack and gets angry at her daughters not realising they are just the spitting image of her cut into three. And this wondrous woman is my mother. Though she does have her “Muuuum stoooop” moments she is still loved by everyone who’s hearts she creeps in.

I’m writing my mum as my hero as I had realised mothers don’t get the recognition they deserve and are always over looked and ignored like a stop sign.

Not everyone can relate to having a mother, fortunately they do have someone they look up to even if it is themselves.

Mothers don’t always get to hear the sweet words “I love you” as much as they need to.

I love you mum.
