If growing up means wearing expensive clothes with well-known slogans, may it please not happen to me as Mama is unemployed and won’t be able to afford any. If growing up means, I have to put on make-up every day and look more like a clown, may it please not happen to me.

If growing up means I have to stop wearing that long skirt Mama bought for me as a school uniform, may I please not fall for temptations and look like one of those who wear short skirts and is always blushing for the male teachers, as they also love showing their cleavage.

If growing up means I have to undress myself, take pictures and post them on social media to get one thousand likes, may I please remain young forever as this will ruin my reputation.
If growing up means, I have to have a boyfriend, may it not happen to me as I already have one who will not impregnate me and he goes by the name of Education.

If growing up means I have to pass my elders on the streets without greeting them at all, may I remain young forever and ever as any elder is the reason behind my blessings in life.

Mother Nature, I plead with you to help me remain young for the sake of my future and the world, as it relies on me to make it a better place.
