There were two girls, Tshilidzi and Tshedza, who were best friends from different family backgrounds in a village called Tshidimbini. Tshilidzi’s family was underprivileged, they depended on her grant. Tshedza’s family was rich. The girls were attending the same school. Sometimes, Tshedza would just get moody and mock Tshilidzi, saying that she was poor and didn’t deserve to be friend with her.

One day, while Tshilidzi was on her way to fetch water, she met Tshedza with some of the bad girls gossiping about her. She heard them and froze, tears wet her dark chocolate skin. She told herself that from that day onward she would just focus on her studies because it was her final year in secondary and she was a straight A student.

After a week, exam trials began and she passed her Grade 12 with seven distinctions. Universities were fighting over her while on the other hand, Tshedza had failed her test.

She was now doing her last year in medicine. She would visit her parents on holidays only to find out that the prince was coming back. She couldn’t stay because she had to go back to school to finish her last term exam trials.

She passed her exams with flying colours. After she finished, she got a job in the United States of America. She built her parents a big house and bought herself a car. Her friend Tshedza, was struggling because now both her parents had disowned her after they heard that she was pregnant.

Tshilidzi got married to the prince from her village and they lived happily ever after. They were blessed with a baby boy. They decided to help Tshedza with the baby and as they say: never judge a book by its cover.
