A wise man once said something about someone: “Someone will always be prettier than you, someone will always be smarter than you and someone will always be younger than you; but they can never be you”.

If you want to be irreplaceable, then you will have to be different. As I was reading about the “Venus planet” the morning star; I’ve come to realize that the brightest planet itself was somehow the black sheep. With all the planets rotating clockwise (same direction), the Venus actually rotates in the opposite direction.

It really grasped my attention and I thought for a minute, of all the things I was afraid to do in life because nobody else in my family had done them before.

We tend to lose what the future has in store for us because of the fear of actually being who we are and being different. We are afraid that if we try to be different from the crowd, we might fail and the crowd might not like us. We are scared of losing things we don’t even have.

We are scared of being referred to as ‘crazy’, forgetting the same person who built the first double storey house was called crazy because nobody had seen a house built on the roof of the other before.

Stop for a minute and think what really could have been in this world if we all had similar destinations ahead of us.

We would all be mechanical robots and be controlled by one mind. Albert Einstein himself was going to think like his brother and become a farmer maybe. We wouldn’t fly on planes today if the man who made the first plane had hidden his idea. We are to face different experiences because we are destined for different things; each to his own path. A chef could taste it if something was missing from his stew, because he knows each and every ingredient has a different purpose in bringing a unique taste. It is useless for a chef to have abundant bags of sugar and without salt.

Matt 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its flavour, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.

Tell us: What is that one thing that makes you look or sound “crazy”? Are you afraid of what people may think of you or are you going to chase it?
