Goals and aspirations are our wishes, dreams, hopes, visions and ambitions to succeed in life.
However, it is an undeniable fact that in order for one to able to spot and determine his/her future, the first important aspect to look at is goals because a mission can never be accomplished if there is no vision for the future.
The people in our surroundings inspire our aspirations and goals; it can be either our families, friends or any other people that we are closely associated with.
As far as I am concerned, life is all about choices. We have no option but to choose. Everything you do is what you want to do and everything you choose is what you really want to have.
Even though some of our desires have slim chances, that does not have to be the reason to lose hope. Hope can really take us high but if we live your lives in a way that other people want you to live, you will never achieve what you want in life.
One more thing to ponder when setting our goals is fear. Fear has been a great challenge to almost everyone for quite some time. For instance, success is a long road travelled by most but only a few tend to succeed. I think people fail to succeed because they can’t forgive.
Forgiveness helps successful people heal, it is not something they do for others but it’s something they do for themselves. I’ve learnt that when they forgive, they do not only remove heavy baggage on their shoulders but they also grow.
For instance, I aspire to become a lawyer, not for the prestige or income of the profession but I believe that even though I am not really highly intellectual I have the potential and heart to be one. Many innocent people are imprisoned. Women and children from all over the world are physically, mentally, emotionally and sexually abused. Human rights are violated every day and in any other ways.
That is why I want to defend the innocent, speak out against prejudice, help fight human rights and speak up for the oppressed.
Tell us: Why are goals so important, especially for young people?
