Since the age of five I knew I wanted to write, and wrote my first story on bank deposit slips when I was seven. This story remains in my mother’s recipe book to this day. In high school I wrote for the school paper, but the real fun started at University, where I joined a writer’s workshop and submitted poetry and short stories on a weekly basis. My life and career have taken many turns, I have worked as a tour guide, a teacher, an information officer to a High Commissioner and lastly as a journalist. I believe that every step I took brought me closer to this point where I have gained confidence to believe in my own ideas. My training as a journalist has given me an edge, I like to look for stories in unlikely places. In my writing I work heavily with pictures, I myself need to see my characters, and it is my hope that my readers will see pictures in their mind’s eye, be led with the story into a movie of the mind.
