Prudence Makau was born in Ga-Mphahlele, Dithabaneng in Limpopo (South Africa) and has lived in various parts of the country. She currently works as a marketing and publicity coordinator for a leading publishing company in SA. Prudence holds a Bachelor of social sciences degree in Communication and Media studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in management specializing in Corporate Governance from Monash South Africa. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Management specializing in Governance at the University of Witwatersrand

Prudence Makau previously published a short piece on Gender Based Violence with Fundza Literary Trust, titled: I Know. She currently resides in Ruimsig, west of Johannesburg in South Africa.
