Hello there! My name is Aphumle Mateke and I live in Cape Town- Khayelitsha in a quiet township called Phakamisa. I’m a simple, bubbly (when comfortable) girl and I hate maths. I’m currently doing my first year at Damelin College, studying Journalism & Media Studies. Being a Copy-Editor is what I dream of.
Reading has always been my passion and I find it extraordinary that any one can create a world in people’s mind where they can relate or find comfort in a story. In primary school we were always given a chance of writing a Journal at the back of your English book, and that’s where my talent of using and analyzing words started. I write stories that are true and often the one’s that are happening around me. My anger, happiness or sadness is what gives me the urge of writing and pretend that a paper is a person and my pen is the communication process.
I always encourage myself with the saying: “Wake up with a dream if not go back to sleep, unknown” .
