Please..stop!” I’m still kicking and screaming when he rips my gown off.

He puts his big hand over my mouth, to silence me.

“This should be quick and painless.” He hisses, as he slips down his jean.

I close my eyes, accepting my fate. Tears stream down my cheeks. These people aren’t hearing a thing. Tshego is passed out in our bedroom, and good lord life isn’t fair. Why am I the one suffering? I should’ve just stayed over at Betty’s place.

Suddenly he’s no longer ontop of me, Tshego is standing, looking down at me. Tears streaming down her face too. She’s holding a gun in one hand, I didn’t hear it go off. She must’ve knocked him out with it.

She kneels besides me, and brings my face up to her lap. I cry. She cries. We cry. We both know, after today, life will never be the same again.

“So this man, you brought him to your house?” The policeman asks, as he’s drafting a statement.

He looks bored.

“My girlfriend did.” I whisper.

“So your girlfriend wanted to spice things up in the bedroom, and she brought in a third party? You didn’t like that, now you’re claiming rape?” He asks.

“She did not do that. I didn’t agree. She didn’t agree.” I cry

“Wipe those tears, please girly.” He sighs.

“My girlfriend threw a party with her friends. He was there, when they all passed out, he tried to rape me. I was the only sober one.” I make it clear.

“Gosh. We will detain him later in the morning. What’s his name?”

“Tshego says he’s Mike Hadebe.” I hiccup.
