While still trying to catch a breather, she stopped a taxi. Curiosity got the better of Sizwe asking questions after questions. Finally seated in a taxi they could finally breath.

“Lerato whats wrong? Where’s Mbali and Palesa ?” He continueslly asked. She let out the biggest sigh one has ever heard as she answered all of Sizwe’s questions.

The day Sizwe got his job, she had actually went home to go and ask for money. As she didn’t know he’ll get the job. Her mother told her they’ll only help her if she leaves Sizwe. He was half a man in her eyes. Thinking about Mbali and Palesa. Not knowing Sizwe will get the job. She, had to go back home.

Her parents had already found her a husband. A very wealthy gentleman, well respected in the community. With him, their daughters would never go hungry and their future was secured. “Only a brave man wouldn’t take the offer.” She said with tears all over her.

He gave her the warms and tightest hug ever. “Ouch!” She shouted. Leaning to the other side and showing Sizwe her ribs. She was blue all over. “He was abusing me Sizwe” she cried out loud. “He told me to wear makeup, to hide all the scares on my face. Sizwe felt helpless. He couldn’t protect treasure he once promised to treasure.

“Short left.” Said one of the passengers. With Lerato telling Sizwe they should go aswell. Her knew boyfriend’s house was just around the corner. They desperately wanted to fetch their daughters, before anyone arrived.

She unlocked the door with her keys running straight to the bedroom. “Mabli, Palesa!” Shouted Sizwe. Seeing them felt like something Godly for Sizwe. He hadn’t seen them for week that felt like a life time. With tears he told them to go pack their packs because they are going home. The words felt like Disney land for his daughters.

They had to be quick as it was approaching evening, and taxis would be harder to find. More importantly Lerato didn’t want to meet her parents nor the knew guy. She locked the door, threw the key in front of the door. It felt like a beginning.

The road back home was rather sweet. Filled with lots of laughter, it was Paradise. A whole family united. A husband, wife with their daughters. Sizwe even promised Lerato with his first pay they’ll go renew their vows. He wanted to start everything afresh.

The beginning of the new month, he indeed did keep his promise. They were renewing their vows. With the chuch packed, and everyone seated.

The pastor asked;”Is the anyone here, against this lovely people being together ?

…”Me.” While raising his hand. Sizwe in disbelief, it was Rose.
