…For a moment Sizwe was paralyzed from what he just heard. He was shocked, gutted and humiliated. Family was everything for him. His wife and daughters were his better half. With rainy eyes he asked; “How did she get someone so quickly ? Where can I see them ? Mbali and Palesa ? She can’t them away from me”. I’ve also found a job, a well paying job!

“Mbali and Palesa are ok, Lerato’s new man has money. His rich. Unlike your piece jobs”, his mother in-law replied. It couldn’t get more worse for Sizwe Ndaba, as she told him he’ll recieve the divorce papers very soon.

The 2-3 hour journey back home was filled with tears. He kept asking God why him ? What sin has be commited ? For him to lose the most valuable thing, his family. While still emotional, heavy rain started to occur from nowhere. He was still quite a distance from home. Fortunately a lady saw him and waved at him to come into her house. He glady took the offer.

With a smile; “where are you from in this kind weather ?” She asked. Still with tears that’s over crowded by the rain he just been trough. “I’m from my in-laws. My wife and kids have been missing for a week.” He responded trying to be brave. But he was broken. The kind lady introduced herself by stating her name. ” I’m Rose. Rose Ntuli.” While shaking hands Sizwe returned the favour, by stating his name aswell.

The pair clicked like old friends. As Sizwe told her about his misfortune. From retrenchment, the interview of the new job, his wife disappearing on him. And his in-laws. Rose herself knew a thing or two about relationships, being a widow herself. Her husband passed away 3 years ago with no kids. She was lonely aswell.

After finishing the tea that was filled with lots of laughter. Sizwe looked through the window. It was almost evening. He wanted to leave. But Rose declined, it was too dangerous for him since he has to walk a long distance. He agreed. And even mentioned he’ll sleep on the floor.

The pair continued with their conversation while having dinner. The more they spoke the deeper the conversation went. From the the funny things they did while they were young. To their love life.

Sizwe realising things were getting to far. He asked where is he going to lay his head for the night ? Rose tried to convince him that the bed is big enough for both of them. But he stood firm and refused. She brought him a pair of blankets, and showed him the long sit. With thirst they both said their good nights. Lights were switched off, but Rose wanted more.

She went on to put the shortest nightdress she could find. Twisting and turning infront of the mirror. This had to get his attention.

Not long after closing his eyes. The lights went on again, with someone asking have; ‘have you seen my charger?” Like a magnet Sizwe’s eyes were locked. And his temptation come out tops.
