My heart was racing when I saw Senzo and Thobane carrying Katlego in. I didn’t know what to say or what to do, he was soaked in blood I was not even sure if he was dead or alive.

I wanted to call the police but Senzo made it clear that no police are to be called. I have never felt so helpless before.

I had felt so guilty that I did not tell him how I feel earlier and now he was shot.

But now in his arms I feel safe, I had even stopped crying. Relief washed over me when I saw him awake.

His stomach was wrapped in a bandage, “Katlego.”

“Mmhm?” He asked squeezing my waist. “I love you too.”

He kept quiet for a little while and he lifted my chin so that I was now facing him “Say it again.”

“I love you.” I said it, with no doubt in my voice I meant every word. The thought of losing him made me realise how much I wanted him in my life and how I saw no future if he was not there by my side.

He kissed me “I love you.” he said caressing my cheek.
