Senzo
The revelation hit me like a ton of bricks—she really wants a divorce. My heart sank, and I felt a mix of shock, fear, and sadness. How can I let her go? How can I live without her?
My emotions are a whirlwind as I stood up and paced the floor, trying to process everything. “I love you, Rose,” I choked out, my voice betraying the pain I felt.
Her response was filled with love, but also honesty. “I love you too, but your love is suffocating, Senzo. It’s like I can’t breathe.”
I am torn, feeling desperate to hold onto her, yet knowing that I need to respect her feelings. “I will work on myself, I promise to communicate better,” I pleaded, hoping to find a way to make things right.
She approached me, and as her lips touched mine in a bittersweet kiss, I realised that in this moment that this might be the last time I kiss her, she needs to be free from my grasp. Her words sting, but I understand her need for space and independence.
The realisation hit me that I have to let her go, not to lose her forever because I am not ready to let her go, but I am willing to give her room to grow and find her happiness. I want to see her happy, even if it means separating for a while.
“I can’t sign the divorce papers,” I admit, the thought of it tears me apart. “But we can separate while we both work on ourselves. I never want to lose you, Rose.”
Her nod gives me a glimmer of hope, but it was clear that she has her own doubts.
“Please don’t stalk me, or bomber me with countless messages.” She states looking at me.
I nod “Okay.” I said, promising to respect her boundaries, wanting nothing more than to win her back someday.
As I left her to spend time alone, I feel a mix of emotions—heartbroken yet hopeful. I know I have to give her the space she needs, even though it is excruciating to be apart.
When I join Katlego in the car he faces me , “And?” he asked.
I shrug “She wants us to separate for a little while.” I said, my heart feeling heavy. “We’ll work on ourselves and maybe get back together,” I said, my voice wavering with uncertainty. “I love her.”
Katlego offered a sympathetic smile “You’ll get her back.”
I nodded, trying to find comfort in his words as I drove away leaving behind Caroline we headed to the airport with a heavy heart. The journey ahead was uncertain, but I was determined to do whatever it takes to make things right and win her back—because she is worth fighting for.
