Zekhethelo Speaks

Keneilwe looks intrigued by my life. Honestly, most people are. People ask themselves why a girl would want many girls. I don’t know too.

I slip my hand into my pocket and pull out a R100 note. I order three R25 bunny chows and get a cool drink. We sit down, waiting for our order.

“Do you have a girlfriend?” I ask Keneilwe

She nods.

“If she came to you now, asking you if she’d have a second girlfriend. Would you leave?” I ask

Zanele leans forward, awaiting her response.

“I’d leave.” Keneilwe leans back.

I frown, and raise my eyebrows. “Why?” I ask

“I prefer having one partner. People are sick out there, and they won’t tell you.” She replies.

Good answer.

“My partners and I get tested every 3 months.” I tell her.

She shrugs. “Still.”

She’s so strong minded and stands her ground. Suddenly, I feel the need to make her my 4th girlfriend. Maybe that would also get Promise to wake up from this fantasy of being my only girl.

However, I’d really want to have her as my girlfriend.

We get our order and walk to Zanele’s house. We take pictures using my phone when we get to her house.

Her cellphone rings. Her mom is calling. She announces she has to leave after hanging up.

I wanted her to stay longer.
