“Have you ever confronted him?” Slindile asked, she had read it before in many books that some partners would kill their companion if they found them cheating. What if Mary could no longer take it and killed her husband in a moment of anger. She knew that she could never rule her out just yet.

“Once and he lied.”

“Where were you on the 13th at 10 p.m?”

Mary shrugged as she thought about it “I was at a gala dinner,” She said and paused and looked at her with shock in face “Am I suspect?”

“No.” Samuels chipped in for the first time since the interview began “This is just formality nothing more, the partner is always the first suspect in such cases.”

“Yeah that’s true now if I may ask where were you yesterday?”

“I was here at the house with my kids, we were watching a movie.” Mary answered as tears came back “I despised what he was doing you know, all the sleeping around but that didn’t mean that I wanted him dead.” She said as she cried.

They quickly thanked her for her time and walked themselves out. “That was intense.” Slindile commented as they walked out.
