“There must be something we are missing.” Samuels said with a hint of frustration in his voice.
Slindile was also feeling the same kind of frustration that he was feeling, she paged through the books that she found that were almost similar to this case.
Slindile checked the time and was shocked to see that it was almost 5 o’clock.
“There isn’t much to go on with.” Samuels said when he noticed Slindile looking at her watch “Let’s go home we’ll meet tomorrow with fresh minds.”
Slindile nodded, she was also exhausted and all she needed was to just sleep. She took her bag and went out.
On her way home one thing was on her mind and it was the bodies, how they looked clean almost like dolls but she couldn’t figure out just what it was as yet.
When she got home she did not bother going to bed she threw herself on the couch and in few minutes she was fast asleep.
She was in a dark room so dark that she failed to even see her hands. The door opened and the bright light shined through and a tall man walked in laughing as he played with the rope.
“Who is it going to be?” He asked and that is when Slindile realised thay she was not alone.
“You.” The man said as he dragged her kicking and screaming, He placed the rope on her neck as he laughed and soon the dream changed and now she was sitting with her father under a tree eating mango “I’m stuck.” She said to her father.
“You not, it’s just under your nose stop looking far.” And with that she woke up to a ringing phone.
As she scrambled to find her phone she noticed that it was now 8 p.m “Hello?”
“There’s another body.” Samuel said not bothering himself with formalities.
