SETTING: Lunzu bus stage and on Lunzu M1 road, in suburban of Blantyre city.

(Its 8:15 on friday morning, Kondi boards a taxi to town. Aboard the taxi, there is a passenger in the backseat who is busy on his phone. In the front seat, there is an attractive girl with spaghetti hair and fine pinky lips who can’t take her bright eyes off Kondi which prompts him to start thinking about her.)

GERALD: (Driving) Norah, you don’t seem comfortable, what’s going on in your mind?

NORAH: Me? Am cool… I just don’t like this weather.

GERALD: I know, this sunny weather is horrible for your light skin.

NORAH: Hee-hee, mind your steering wheel.

GERALD: Ha-ha, truth hurts… Are you stopping at the filling station?

NORAH: Yeah, but not for long. Pick me up after you drop off the customers in town. (Unlocks her iPad and resumes the card game)

GERALD: Okay.

(Ten minutes later… the taxi stops by the filling station and Norah gets off the car. Again, she looks curiously at where Kondi is seated. Kondi catches her eyes, she looks down and walks away from the taxi. The other passenger also drops off on the next stop.)

GERALD: (Continues driving) Hey at the back, where exactly are you going with your cooler box?

KONDI: To FCF.

GERALD: Okay perfect, I’ll drop you there… call me Gerald, and what is your name?

KONDI: Kondi.

GERALD: Alright Kondi… Do you know that girl I dropped off at the filling Station?

KONDI: Hmm no, she is strange to me. Why do you ask?

GERALD: She has romantic feelings for you, I sensed it. Do you like her?

KONDI: Of course, she’s so cute. I can’t believe such upper class girl lives in the same ghetto as me.

GERALD: Actually, she lives in town. I’m employed by her father to drive this taxi and she stopped there because it’s one of her dad’s filling stations.

KONDI: Glory be… her dad must be rich.

GERALD: I tell you, very, very rich… but boy, the girl is into you so don’t disappoint me.

KONDI: Hmm, I’m a nobody… I guess she already has a rich boyfriend.

GERALD: No, trust me she’s the loneliest. I’ve been her driver since she was in high school and I’ve never seen a boy that got her attention like you.

KONDI: Hmmmm, sounds too good to be true.

GERALD: (Turns off the car engine at FCF) I’m telling you the truth… think about it.

KONDI: (Buckles off) I get your point, I’ll think about it. Here is your fare-

GERALD: No no no take it. It was nice knowing you.

KONDI: Are you serious you don’t need the money?

GERALD: Yes, suit yourself.

KONDI: Oh, thanks man.

GERALD: Can you share your phone number? (Holding his phone)

KONDI: Uh okay, my number is 0999*** ***.

GERALD: Cheers, I’ll call you sometime.
