Tuesday came and Mbongeni kept good on his promise, he arrived at my door at 6:30 pm with a car.
He calls this our first real date. He took me to the cinema where we watch Deadpool 2 and later he took me to the aquarium where we had our picnic. I am not sure how he convinced the people there, but it was beautiful and to even think he did all of this for me.
We were now watching as the fish swam in silence. I was grateful that today was all about me and not once did we talk about the cancer or the surgery that I am about to do tomorrow.
“I have one more surprise for you.” He says reaching inside his pockets and takes out a small box and hands it to me. I open the box and inside it is a small bracelet written “You are a fighter, M.”
“I love it.” I said as I placed it on my hand. “Thank you Mbongeni.”

I had barely slept last night; all I kept doing was tossing and turning that it mostly kept me up most night. By 7.30 I was done with everything and really anxious and nervous.
The last person I saw before my eyes shut from the anesthesia was mother telling me how much she loves me.
When I woke, I felt different, not minding the lots of pain that I was in but it was because the breasts I have had ever since I started puberty were no longer there, I feel different almost like it is not me anymore. “You are awake.” my mother says as she kisses my hand.
“How long have I been out?”
“Roughly 2 hours and there were no complications.”
A different doctor walked in than the one that I am used and gave me a warm smile as soon as she walked in “Good to see that my patient is now finally awake.
