Lindiwe had a very bad toothache. Her tooth was so sore that she struggled to eat or drink. Lindiwe’s father was worried about her and didn’t like Lindiwe to be in pain, so he decided to take her to the dentist. When they arrived, Lindiwe sat nervously in the dentist’s chair. She felt patrified when she saw the dentist put on gloves. “Is it going to be painful?” Asked Lindiwe who wants to cry. “No it’s not going to be painful, Lindiwe.” Said the dentist who was a kind and gentle woman.

She spoke calmly to Lindiwe and didn’t hurt Lindiwe at all when she put a mirror into her mouth. The dentist used her mirror to look closely at all Lindiwe’s theeth! “Your theeth have cavity” the dentist said to Lindiwe. The dentist explained that this was why Lindiwe was in so much pain.

The dentist told Lindiwe that she must stop eating sugary foods. Then, the dentist filled Lindiwe’s cavity. “I’ll put the clean and fill in your theeth. Don’t worry…it wouldn’t hurt a bit. Calm down Lindiwe.” the dentist spoke gently. She cleaned the cavity on her theeth, she gave Lindiwe an injection to numb the pain. She told Lindiwe to close her eyes and relax. When the dentist drilled Lindiwe’s theeth, it sounded scary but it didn’t hurt! Finally, the dentist put a filling into Lindiwe’s tooth. “Thank you Ma’am” thanked Lindiwe for fixing her tooth. The dentist made Lindiwe promise to stop eating sugary, and to brush her teeth twice a day!!😁
