I remember when I first did my practicals at a certain high school in my area and fell in love with a learner.

The school was nearer my home, it was probably a three minutes walk to the school. Parents in my area even thought I am now a teacher and I get paid, as some did not understand what I meant when I kept explaining to them that I am just doing practicals

Mos of the learners I taught would talk about me to their parents, at malls learners I teach would greet me when walking with their parents and parents would be shocked to see such a young teacher like me. Some parents in my area would tell me they are very proud of me, looking at the area we live in, having such people like me brings hope and sends a message to their children that coming from a disadvantage area where it is said to be a place with sewages all over, dust everywhere as we only have one main road, shacks everywhere as some people call it a squatter camp, an area where it is known to have prostitution at a very low price. Today here I am, from the same area I still made it, so is their children can do it. Some when the school was out would ask me for R2s or for cold drinks. This would really annoy me because they did not understand I was not working but rather doing my practicals and I was still a student and the very same R2 I also needed it.
