Bhekokwakhe waited patiently for his father to take a sip, even though he had not much appetite he kept eating to not look suspicious.
His father stood up again and smiled “I’m glad to see that you all ate your food, for the food that is left you can take them back home.”
Everyone cheered, he continued “I have thought long and hard about my decision,” he said as he looked at everyone and took a sip of the wine “The person who will take over is,” before he could finish he collapsed.
Everyone gasped and for a second it was like everyone was shocked until his mother knelt down and shouted for help.
He looked at Zitha who sat opposite him and gave a little smile before getting up and tried to looked worried.
“What happened?” His voice shouted over the crowd.
The family healer came and took the wine glass his father had drank from and poured at the tissue, the wine turned brown “The King was poisoned.” He said as they took him in his room.
“What now?” Zitha whispered.
“We wait after all the new King was never mentioned, we waited for the right time.” He said as he left her and hurried over to her father’s chambers with his siblings.
“He is still alive.” The healer said as he made his father to drink the a concoction “He will be fine fortunately.”
No. He screamed inside No, this can’t be happening. He forced a smile “That’s wonderful news.” He commented.
He had to die, he cannot be alive. I will make sure that this time he dies and there will be no saving him, he thought as walked out, this time he will make sure.
