Gogo sat comfortably in her sofa with her hand holding her face . She can’t stop thinking about her Grand daughter. One week. It’s been one week and still no one has responded nor called her about Maka’s whereabouts. She hardly slept last night because of stress , how does one sleep without knowing if their child is safe . Maka is almost everything she have left including Amanda . She loves both of her Grandkids, even with the differences she has with their mothers .
She taps on Amanda’s number and hopes she picks it up .
” Hello ” answers Amanda .
A wave of relief swept over Gogo when she heard Amanda’s voice .
” How are you my grandchild ,and how is Maka “
” We are fine sorry that we ware not able to call you Sooner we ware just having sister times together and work kept us busy”
” Ohh it’s fine , it’s fine can I talk to Maka , there is something I want to discuss with her “
” Mxm ohh Gogo Maka is at work and she has really been enjoying himself here . It’s hard to see her but what is it . I will deliver the message to her “
” I wanted to tell her that I got a maid and she has been cleaning my house so well and I really like her . I want Maka to discuss the payment arrangements with her “
” Is that all “
” Yes “
” Don’t worry I will handle it , I will just send me her contact details and we will talk “
” What about Maka , she is the one who said she will pay “
” We don’t want to disturb Maka enjoying her life Gogo , just send it to me Don’t worry “
” Oky . Thank you ” Gogo said trying to hide the disappointment in her voice and ended the call .
Something was not right . Had Town changed Maka to the point where she even forgot her own Gogo. The woman who raised her .

Grace walked up and down the house . She was not in a good mood , her husband had refused to listen to her and get himself a new wife . He is destroying her plans and delaying everything which she had planned out . She cannot afford to drop everything after everything she has been through and all the sacrifices she has made . She gnashed her teeth and slightly threw herself onto the chair .
” Why can’t men listen to woman , this is exactly why I need to fix it “
Grace took a sip of her juice then let out a sigh. She will have to push her husband even more into getting a wife . Time is running and she does not have it . She only has 6 weeks left and in that 6 weeks a lot needs to be done .

Constable Chiware shook his head at the couple that stood infront of him . The wife had gone to the station to open a case against her husband for GBV , for probably the second time . The first time when constable sent the officers to arrest the man . The woman was down on her knees begging them not to take her husband . And now for the second time, Constable decided to interfere and when he arrived at their house . He found the two living their best life , all in love . And they ware so shocked to see the police , the wife even asked what they ware doing at her house .
Constable was shocked . He questioned himself , why was woman so weak and stupid . This is the second time her husband has beaten her and she made them come to her house for nothing .
“Listen here this is the last time we will ever show up at your house do you understand . The next time you call us telling us that your husband has beaten you we will not come “
” It’s fine go ” said the husband
Constable Chiware just shook his head and made his leave . There is no way you can help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.The police can only work with people who want to co operate . GBV cannot end if the victims keep going back to the perpetrator because of the sweet tongue they hear or the expensive gifts they get .
” If that was my sister I would kill that man ” murmured Constable .
Constable Chiware has always hated GBV that’s why he became a police man . To fight against crime and GBV that happens in Zimbabwe . Well GBV is so much in Zimbabwe because there co operation between the police and it’s people . Woman tend to get their husbands arrested then later come begging the police to release him . It is as if it is a child’s play , that’s why most policemen do not take these cases serious . He wished that there was a way he could change the minds of woman , for them to realise that a leopard will never change its spots and that you should leave it’s den while you still can.
Turing to look back once more , his heart broke . His heart broke for that woman . How long should she get beaten before she finally decides to have him locked up . There is nothing he can do to help her , he can’t just arrest the man because he saw him or because he knows that the man beats his wife . It’s against the laws , the person who has been offended should report and action shall be taken .
” Let’s go constable Chiware leave that lady she will come to the station when her body is cooked like meat “

Grace has set up her plan and she is hoping it works .
Standing infront of the door holding her bags and with a tissue in her hand , faking a sad facial expression . She is keen to get her husband to marry another wife , she is only doing this for the sake of her marriage . As a woman you have to do whatever it takes to keep your marriage stable .
While patiently waiting for her husband , she hears the engine of a car outside and immediately she knows it’s him .it’s her husband with his second hand noisy car , Now she starts to force out some tears out , thinking about the things that makes her sad .
Manyika opens the door while he whistles with bliss in his voice . Something good must have happened . Landing his eyes on the luggages that stood infront of him all the bliss inside him goes gloomy . He stops whistling and look up at his wife who looks very tormented and sad . He cannot seem to understand what the issue is .
Taking steps Closer he pulled Grace into his arms but she pushed him away .
” Leave me , move out of my way “
” What is wrong Grace ” Manyika asked Sounding very concerned .
” Manyika , Manyika I asked you one thing , just one thing and you refused to deliver it “
” Is this about the whole wife thing Grace “
” No it’s about the wife thing “
” Why are you forcing me to take another wife when I have you “
” Because I want kids , I want us to have our children “
” But Grace how will having another Wife give us kids “
” Manyika why are you so stupid , why don’t you think , why can’t you use your brains for once in your life . The wife you will Marry will be my sister in law , and her kids will be mine because they are yours , whats yours is mine “
” Grace , Grace look at me ” he gently said ,
” I am tired of looking at you and explaining to you ” Grace said in a harsh tone
” Is it what you really want ” he asked trying to meet her eyes .

Maka stood against the counter waiting for the water to boil . Her mind was not in place , she was thinking about What Amina had once told her .
Amina had once said that Amanda is just a pretender like Judas and that she sees it through her character . Maka could not understand why Amina had said so until this day , she used to think that maybe Amina was jealous of her sister because of the way Maka kept speaking about her . Maka looked up to her elder sister and was even glad that she had one but now all of that changed . Amanda is not who she was before , the bitter and hate Amanda gives Maka is clear enough to kill a elephant . But she does not understand why Amanda suddenly hates her .
How could she have offended or wronged her sister ?
Thinking of the devil , she appeared looking tired . She dropped her bag in the passage and walked to her room .
She expects Maka to pick it up . Imagine Gogo was there to see the way Maka is being treated .
