Melokuhle
Melusi was right when you go off throwing money people will literally suck your toes and worship the ground you walk on. I only have a week and a couple of days to make this day happen and I proud that I have managed to secure everything in such a short notice. “And this is the wedding dress that you want?” Anisa Mpungwa the famous Durban designer asks me after managing to work her magic hands and sketched a jaw dropping dress.I couldn’t even believe it when she got back to me after I managed to get contact of her and told her that I have an emergency, a wedding emergency that is in exactly 1 week and 3 days.
I nodded with a big smile on my face “This is amazing, and I am sorry for such a short notice.” She shaked her head “Don’t sweat it girl, I will make sure that you have a dress that you will walk down the aisle with.” I walked out feeling content and like everything is going my way. The only thing that Melusi needs to focus on is his attire the one that I had to choose for him since I can’t trust him to follow the theme that I had set, the only thing he needs to do is show up for alterations and pick it up when it is ready.
I wanted to hire a caterer but Lizzie said no and that we need food that is cooked at the yard so I didn’t complain not when the ladies did such an amazing job at the ceremonies.

“Everything is set, stop stressing.” my mother said helping me style my hair, but it is hard not to stress.
I want everything to go smoothly, I don’t want any hiccups on my day. I woke up early today making calls to everyone making sure that they will be here on time. I don’t want to cry and stress not when I am about to walk down the aisle.
“The cake,” I looked frantically around, “It is being set outside.” Lizzie said when she walked in making me calm down a little bit, she smiled knowingly looking at me “You need to relax.”
I wanted to shake my head but then Anisa walked in with my dress in her hands, my racing heart calmed down a whole lot more, I smiled sadly when I could see the dark circles surrounding her eyes telling me all that I needed to know, poor Anisa she barely slept this entire week trying to finish my wedding dress, I’ll make sure that I pay her a little more extra for her trouble.
She lays the dress carefully on the bed, I suck in my breath when I see the redness of my dress, with splashes of white colour, it looks like a Cinderella dress, it is big and puffy. The dress is an off shoulder dress, on the bust area it is decorated with some beads and I am completely in love with it.
I fan my eyes so that I don’t shed any tears and ruin my make up, Anisa sure does some miracle work. “Please you are welcome to stay and join us.”
“I can never say no to a wedding invitation.”
I can’t believe it when I look at myself in the mirror when I am done getting dressed, with a Zulu hat on my head.
It is crazy to think how many times I have married Melusi, I hope this is our last wedding until of course we renew our vows when we are old and have grey hair, with missing teeth.
This time I choose to walk alone as I walk down the aisle, everything looks amazing, now I can finally breath knowing that everything has went according to my plan.
I also need to thank both my mom and Lizzie after thos for making sure that everything runs smoothly.
The cake is a 3 tier cake, which has vanila, mint and chocolate flavours. I didn’t want anything fancy and I also asked for some red velvet cupcakes to be laid out as a cake so that people can take and eat.
I have missed Melusi in the last 2 days, seeing him now makes me want to run over to him smash my lips on his.
We have already went emsamo to inform the ancestors that I am now getting married on a traditional wedding, standing here is just for the show.
Everything goes by with a blur, the place is filled with laughter, jokes and so many dances.
Everything has now been done according to the book, I am now a full member of the Xaba family.
Lizzie was the first to start a speech, she shed a few tears and made us laugh as she continued to talk about my relationship with Melusi. “You both deserve all the happiness there is in the world. Your love has been tested for so long but you stayed together. I admire that about you guys and I know that wherever your parents are, they are just as happy.” I didn’t want to cry and ruin the makeup that I had to sit down for 2 hours straight for but Lizzie made it difficult for me not to shed a few tears. She came over and dabbed my tears and hugged both me and Melusi before walking back to her chair.
My mother followed and after that my dad came and talked about how he never liked Melusi before but now they have mended their problems and he knows that Melusi will protect me even with his last breath.
