Melusi
I wanted to stay in with Melokuhle and pamper her all day but she is right I have this business deal I need to close. The only detail I left was that I am meeting her father it is time we had a talk.
I drove into the thick bush, I wonder how Steve even found out about this place. I came into a clearing where I saw Steve’s car parked into a spot where it doesn’t seem like trees ever grew in it.
The spot is completely open with just grass cut so finely, Steve is looking directly at me his hands deep in his pockets as I get out of the car.
I take off my jacket and walked over towards him now only standing a few feet away from him.
No words are spoken, Steve rolls his shirt slowly, taking his time. The first punch landed on the side of my lips busting it open, I staggered a little bit. “You kidnapped my daughter.” He growled. He pointed the next punch straight on my stomach, I knew that it will leave a bruise but I don’t care.
The punches kept coming and coming until Steve got tired, we were now sitting down on the ground leaning against Steves car.
I took out a handkerchief out of my pocket and wiped the blood from my busted lips.
“Do you love her?” Steve asked looking at me with narrow eyes, I can feel him silently judging me, waiting to hear what I have to say, watching if I am any good for his daughter.
I know where he is coming from, I salute him for being such a protective figure Melokuhle I would definitely do the same for my baby girl I would bring grief to the guy until he thinks of leaving.
I nod “She’s the love of my life.” I doubt that there will be anyone I will ever love as much as I love Melokuhle, she is it for me.
“If you ever hurt her again I’ll make sure that you regret the day that you were born.”
I smirked, I knew that the threats will come, I was waiting for them. Steve might have gone to extreme measures to protect Melokuhle but I see where he is coming from, this is his only child and I am sure he will give his life just to protect her
“Welcome to the family Melusi Xaba.” Steve clasped my hand in a tight handshake, which is a good thing because I have my own tight grip that I have mastered to learn a long time ago.
Steve seemed impressed as we got up “And congratulations on your new baby.” He offered.
I nodded as I headed to my car, careful not to show how wounded I am as I walked. I don’t want Steve to see me as being a weakling.
I leaned back on my seat and took out the ice bottle from the back seat good thing I remembered to bring me some. I placed the cold bottle on my cheek the coldness felt soothing on my numb cheek.
