Melusi
My heart was hammering inside, not knowing how I was going to this out, it was difficult as it is. I played with the shaker as I tried to gather the strength to ask her.
“Talk.”
“I was thinking that maybe we can go to your parents and do this the right way.”
She looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language, “What?!” She asked when she stood up “Are you hearing yourself.”
I went over to her and held her waist “I know I know but I have talked to Lizzy and she believes that we have to get your parents blessings.”
“No.” She said as she walked away and went outside.
I took a deep breath, going to her parents was the last thing I wanted to do but Lizzy was right we had to do this the right way, the proper way.
I understood where Melo was coming from but she also had to understand how important it is to me too.
I went outside and saw her standing near the ocean, I wrapped my arms around her and looked at the sun as it shone beautifully.
“You don’t understand.” She said “My parents did the most awful thing to me, they hurt me Melusi and you want me to go back there again.” She said as she turned around “They placed me in a mental facility, seems like you forgot about that.”
“I didn’t, I am not just doing this for me.” I held her hands gently so as if I was afraid that she might run away from me “I want your parents to witness your special day, you only get to marry once.”
“What if they take me away again?” She asked with tears on her eyes “I don’t want to lose you again.”
“Hey,” I said lifting up her chin “I won’t let that happen you hear me? If you want a bodyguard with you I can do that.”
