Melusi

Seeing her father made my blood boil; it has been 3 months and still I have not received my money. I hated someone who is a bad payer.

I slammed the door behind me I turned around and looked at Melokuhle just the sight of her annoyed me.

I stomped towards her and held her arm tightly and headed to the house.

“Melusi you hurting me.” She said, and she winced.

“Shut up.”

“Melusi,”

Before she should finish saying another word I turned around and smacked her so hard that I was sure my hand print will rest on her face.

I grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the wall “I said shut up.” And pushed her inside the house.

She looked at me with her red eyes and ran to her room.

I walked to the fridge and took out a beer and went to the balcony.

“You are drunk.”

It was no question, Lizzie knew me better than anyone else. Without turning around I nodded.

“You are never drunk.”

“No.” I said.

“What happened?” She asked as she sat down.

“I saw her father.. and that got me mad.”

“Really?” She asked with scepticism. I shrugged as I chugged on my beer and looked up the sky.

“We both know that’s not the truth.” She said after a while.

I sighed “No it’s not.” I said “I don’t know what I am feeling.”

“I presume it’s love?”

“I don’t know how to love someone else. I have never learned to love someone.” I lifted up beer and damn I had finished all of it.

“You will learn to love her; you must allow yourself to feel.” She stood up and shouted for me to hear “You deserve love too.” I listened to her footsteps as they disappeared when she entered her room, surprised to see my knuckles turning white from grabbing too tight on the railing.

I shook my head hoping to shake all of the swarming thoughts away.
