I didn’t want to leave Ntobeko alone but I knew that she will be safe with someone guarding her, if anything were to happen I would rush there no matter the time of day.

When I arrived at the warehouse I went straight to my room, threw my jacket on the small couch and unbuttoned my shirt. I was ready to go to the bathroom after taking a shower I needed that after the day I just had, my phone rang just as I was about to get up.

“Hello?”

“You said I could call you.” it was Ntobeko. Her voice was low and gentle, soft like a melody. I looked at the time and it was 23:45. She should have been fast asleep by now. I had left her house hours ago on my way to the warehouse. I had passed by a bar and drank a couple of beers trying to drown away the video I saw of Ntobeko.

“Nkosazana.” I sat on the edge of the bed “You can’t sleep?”

“No.”

I sighed a little “Do you want to come over?”

“No, my mother would freak out having you here at this hour.”

“I won’t enter the house, don’t fall asleep, I’ll be there soon.” I walked out again ignoring Ntando’s look when I headed out and stepped inside my Mazda car and sped out of the gate.

I passed by the store that was open 24 hours and bought a few snacks and shot straight to Ntobeko’s house.

I knocked at Ntobeko’s window and heard her little feet, after a whole minute the window opened “I thought you were joking when you said you were coming.” She said, her eyes were red, indicating that she had been crying.

“I never joke around when it comes to you.”

“You can’t come in here.” She said looking at the burglar-proof window. I shook my head “I told you that I won’t be coming in.” I gave her the snack that I bought, set up my camp chair on the stoep and took out a laptop from my bag. “You go stay in your bed, eat your snacks and watch a movie. What do you like?”

She shrugged her shoulders sitting crossed-legged on the bed “Do you have Thor’s movies?”

“No, but I can download them.” In under 5 minutes, they were downloaded and I put on the movie. She watched the movie through the window while eating Mexican chilly Simba snacks. While she was busy watching a movie I was watching her, she still had blotches of tears, her eyes were red making me mad for what that bastard had done to her.

Ntobeko barely made it to half of the movie, she was already sleeping holding the Teddy bear that I had bought her. I watched her for a couple of minutes, closed her bedroom window and walked back to my car. I nodded goodbye to Leroy while I jumped inside my car.

Now I could relax, knowing that Ntobeko was asleep and not up, worrying that cute brain of hers.
