Samantha
How? How the hell did they find us? Among the many police officers I spotted my mother.
“Let’s go of Samantha,” The police officer said in an authoritative voice. I looked down at my hand and saw that Bavumile was holding me tightly as if he was afraid to let me go.
“Let go or I’ll shoot.”
“No,” I said, I turned to look at Bavumile “It’s okay, you can let go Bavumile, please, I don’t want them to shoot you.”
“If I let go, they’ll make sure that I never get to see you ever again.” He said in a low voice “I can’t let you go Samantha.”
I caressed his cheek, I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him softly “I will find a way.”
“I’m going to count to 3 if you don’t let go I will have no choice but to shoot.”
Bavumile shook his head, and then I heard it, the deafening sound of the gun being fired. In two bullets and Bavumile went down on the floor.
I screamed so hard that I was sure my voice has left me. Blood oozed out of his broad chest, his eyes never leaving me “I love you.” He said.
I felt rough hands pulling me away and soon the police officers blocked my view of Bavumile. I tried to break through from the thick hands but their hold on me didn’t waiver not even for a second.
The person shoved me in a black car and there I saw my mother. “Oh my poor baby.” She said trying to hug me. I pushed her away and tried to open the door only to find out that it was locked.
“How did you find us?” I asked when I knew that I was not getting out of the car.
“Through your wifi.” My mother said “That good for nothing tried to take you away from me?”
“No mom, I was the one who set everything up. I love him.”
My mother took a deep breath as if trying to digest what I just told her “I don’t care what you did, you will tell the police officers that it was him, that he was the one who did all of this, you here me Samantha?”
I ignored my mother and looked out the window “Will he be okay?”
Instead of answering my mother knocked on the window for the driver to get in “We are done talking.” and her face shut down and focused on her laptop that was resting on her lap.
