It was refreshing having Nombuso by my side, I watched her as she fell in love with all of the adrenaline that came with the job, I watched her as she enjoyed the danger of it all and actually getting good at it what she did.
Although I had different plans for her, this life suite her so well.
“Let’s go.” She said as she got inside the car. “This is a big one.” She said as she parked the car outside the bank and looked at me “You ready?” She asked as she put on her mask.
I nodded as I also put on my mask and soon we were inside the bank, Nombuso quickly went to collect the cash.
“Hurry.” I shouted as I heard the sirens, my heart was pounding everything felt like a dream.
“Come!” Nombuso shouted, we both quickly ran into the car and Nombuso sped away, but not fast enough, the police started shooting, I took out my gun and fired a couple shots.
Nombuso took a sharp turn and took different turns so as to lose the cops. “We will have to abandon the car soon.” Nombuso said.
She stopped at an open field and we took the bags full of money and followed Nombuso as she went to one of the house and there was a blue BMW parked she opened the car “Get in.” She drove away in an opposite direction that we came from, this time she was not speeding.
“I knew such will happen oneday, we have to be prepared right?”
Surprised at all of this, I nodded. That’s when I realised thay she has grown in such a short space of time.
