I don’t know how long I sat there crying, I lifted up my head and wiped my tears as I got up.
It was hard to believe what had happened in those few minutes but there was no time to cry about it as I got inside the Uber.
I looked out the window as the car parked, I rubbed my sweaty hands on my dress, now my regalia rested on my arms as I got out.
I climbed the stairs as I went into Ayabonga’s apartment. I took a deep breath before I knocked.
He opened the door with a beer on his hand, unlike usually there was no smile today.
“Hi.” He said. I cleared my throat hoping in those few seconds I will gain some strength “Hi.” I said as I looked at the gown on my hand “You were right all along I needed to move on and I am sorry it took me all this time to realise that.” I pointed out as I lifted up my head and looked at him “If perhaps, you still want to be with me I promise I’ll give all of me without any hesitation.”
“That’s all I wanted to hear.” He said for the first time “I don’t want to be the second option.”
“And you won’t be, I promise.”
He nodded and opened the door wide enough for me to get inside “I’m having pizza, I hope you in the mood.” He said as we walked into the living room.
The rest of the night was spent with us cuddling as we binged watched my favourite series as we stuffed our faces with pizza.
