Ndumiso

I smiled knowingly as I stood just outside Sindies home, where I met with Naledi only a week old in her arms.

I knocked on the door, Sindie’s mother opened the door, looking so drunk that she could not even stand to save her life.

“I know you.” She said pointing a wavy finger towards me.

“Did she come here?”

“Who?” She asked squinting her eyes to look at me. She looked back down with her shoulders sagging down.

“Sindie.”

“You mean that Jezebel who sold you her body and got pregnant. You took her away from me a year ago remember or is it two years now.”

I walked past her, the whole shack reeked with alcohol. “Hey.” The woman tried to catch up as I searched for in this tiny tin she called a home.

“When you see her, call me.” I handed her the card and walked out, and climbed back into my car.

“I want you to call each and every estate agent, ask around if anyone had moved here recently.”

Simon nodded as he took out his phone and started calling.

They had to be somewhere around here, I can almost smell them. Soon I’ll find them. Soon.
