Avethandwa was three when we found out we were having another addition to our beautiful little family. You had always wanted a big family, and me falling pregnant again promised you that.

Again, with the second pregnancy, you showered me with love, respect, care and you spoilt both me and your son rotten!

You even bought a new house, Mthandeni, in the suburb of Barsonia. I was overwhelmed when you told me, the house that looked like a mall belonged to me!

You gave the the papers, it was in my name, Mthandeni. Everyone envied my life. You wanted a big house, cause you wanted many kids.

I gave birth to our second son, on the 12th of February 2016. Again, it was like I kept birthing your photocopies. You named him,

“Simhlelile.”

Simhlelile grew, and of course, he looked so much like you too. Your genes were too strong, Mthandeni, they overpowered mine. It was like you made these babies alone. All alone. Not even a hint of me was visible in the boys. They both had your complexion, eyes, beauty, they were you.

We were happy, with our little family, baby. We were so damn happy. Why did you have to do that? Why?

It didn’t take time for me to fall pregnant again, after Simhlelile’s birth. When he was two and Avethandwa was five, I gave birth to another baby boy.

You were overjoyed, you named him, “Ziyand’iyntsizwa.”
