It was the evening of the ball. I slipped on my blue dress, and did my hair and makeup. When I was done, I had to wait a little bit longer for Xavier. Soon we met up with our kids and went to a special room in the palace.

This room held all of our royal jewels. These were passed down from generation to generation. I placed the crown on my head, as the girls took their tiaras. The guys wore special royal badges, made with real diamonds.

For some reason, something felt off. I just couldn’t shake that feeling off, no matter what I did.

“Babe? You okay?”

I turned to my husband, who looked at me with worry.

“I’m fine, just feeling like something’s about to happen.”

“Maybe our son is about to find his mate.”

“No, it’s bugging me Xavier. It’s an awful feeling.”

“I’ll mind link the guards to watch over the palace, okay? Everyone will be safe tonight, you don’t need to worry.”

“Okay.”

~~~~~~~~~
3 hours into the ball, but still no sign of Marcel’s mate. He seemed to lose hope.
“Hey sweetie, how you feeling?”
“Frustrated, heartbroken, sad.”
“Awww my baby.”
I pulled him closer and hugged him, which he returned.
“Doesn’t she want me mom? Why can’t I find her? I thought that I would meet my mate tonight.”
He said, he sounded like he was on the verge of crying.
“No,no,no Marcel. I promise you, you will find her okay? Don’t lose hope please?”
He just nods. Soon he turns around, sniffing the air. He scans the entire area.
“Mom, do you smell that?”
“Smell what?”
“It smells like roses, nature,you know? The woods.”
I chuckle as he continues to sniff the air.
“It’s soo intoxicating.”
“You just found your mate son.”
He turns to me, his eyes shining. Roman and Kairo came over to us, followed by their daughter Ariana.
“MARCEL?!!”
As soon as he makes eye contact with Ariana, I immediately saw a connection. They both froze, staring into each other’s eyes. At this point everyone at the ball had their eyes on them.
“Mate.”
They both repeated. I couldn’t be more happier. Xavier came and stood next to me, he smiled at me then kissed me on my forehead. He then raises his glass in the air.
“ALL HAIL YOUR FUTURE QUEEN!!!” He shouts.
The entire ball erupts into cheers, as we celebrate their future king finding his queen.
But for some reason, that feeling came back. And it was much stronger than before.
When the ball was officially over, we sat in the lounge with the kids. Their mates, Axel, Abby and Ariana joined us too. They officially part of our family now. It was pretty funny, all of their names started with the letter ‘A’.
I looked over at Xavier, and saw that he was rubbing his temples. He then quickly stood up and rushed to the bathroom. This made me and the kids run after him. When we reached the bathroom, he was on his knees vomiting.
“Xavier, are you okay? What’s happening?”
“I’m fine babe. I’m okay.”
He says standing up. He leans against the counter, catching his breath.
“That’s it, we going to the hospital. Let’s go!”
I say as I make my way towards him. I put his arm around my neck, as Marcel ran to go and get the car keys. Axel had Xavier’s other arm wrapped around his neck.
~~~~~~~~~

Before we entered the doctors room, Xavier held onto his chest.

“Dad?” Kiara asked with a shaky voice.

“What’s wrong dad? What’s going on?” Marcel asks running over to him.

“Dad please say something. Anything please?” Sarah says holding onto me tight.

He then collapses, but Axel and Marcel quickly caught him.

“XAVIER!!!”

“DOCTOR!!!!??? WE NEED A DOCTOR!!!!SOMEBODY HELP!”

I held onto my girls as doctors and nurses came rushing over. My body was shaking as I started sobbing. I didn’t want to, but I just broke down in front of my kids. I hate people seeing me this weak.

“Please Xavier, I need you. Come back to your family in one piece.”

I say to my husband via mind link, hoping he could hear me.
