“How many times must I tell you not to arrive at this hour huh?” Nkosinathi said in a harsh grating tone.
“Papa, there was traffic on the… ” MmaKeneilwe couldn’t even finish speaking. She felt a hot slap on her cheek.
“Papa , please hear me out please”
MmaKeneilwe recieved a punch on her left eye.
MmaKeneilwe’ s scream was heart breaking but Nkosinathi seemed to be enjoying it. Poor MmaKeneilwe was Nkosinathi’s punching bag.
Welcome to MmaKeneilwe’s life . She was always abused physically , emotionally and verbally. Things became worse when her son Katleho started having anxiety and depression because of his father. Katleho was a 13 years old boy. His parents were MmaKeneilwe ( mother) and Nkosinathi(father). Bontle was named (MmaKeneilwe ) after she gave birth to a baby girl ( Keneilwe) who passed away after few months of birth. It was hard for MmaKeneilwe but her husband Nkosinathi was very loving and supportive. Everyone from their area envied their relationship. Nkosinathi was working at a famous company that produced beverage , at the end of the month his wallet was always fat it was crammed with much money the payment was indeed pretty much. At this time MmaKeneilwe wasn’t working , she was treated like a queen she didn’t even raise a finger anything she wanted his husband made sure she got it. MmaKeneilwe was fit enough to be a King’s wife. Her skin was very smooth , very light skinned. A little chubby , her body was perfect. Her name really defined her ” Bontle” ( beauty). A kind down to earth women she was.
Bontle growing up she was in love with reading novels , poems and short stories. Reading gave her peace of mind. She challenged her anger by writing well; her mom had always told her to so so . After some years she got married with Nkosinathi that’s when her parents died . Her most special inheritance from her mom was a diary. Her mom knew how much she loved writing.
“My child everything that happens in your marriage write it in this book, never ever raise your voice to your husband; channel your anger by writing. Everything in this book, ” her mom would say.
