“I have a plan Shadrack ,” said Sifiso searching the now dead stranger laying on the mat in his living room.
“It’s all over sir , we are fucked !” shouted the lawyer dropping on his knees.
” We need to locate and trace every caller inside the stranger’s cellphone,” said Sifiso , searching through the pants of the stranger’s dead body.”Ah ha !” shouted Sifiso pulling out a cellphone from inside the pockets of the stranger’s dead body.
“That’s very clever sir ,” the lawyer breathed a sigh of relief.There was suddenly hope in the horizon.”I’ll hack into his contact right away sir,” the lawyer said connecting a cable between the cellphone and his laptop.
“We need to find every single one of those five people in the next 24 hours or else we are done for Shadrack,” said Sifiso pacing up and down in his living room holding a glass of whiskey on his hand.
“I got it sir, I think i have discovered something,” said the lawyer clicking the keyboard of the laptop.
” What did you discover Shadrack?” Sifiso curiously asked staring at the laptop screen with great interest like his life depended on it.
” Yeah ..and?”enquired Sifiso confused a bit,
“I simultaneously managed to locate all five people in possession of the envelopes,” replied the lawyer with a smile on his face.
” But how do we know if this five people did not open the envelopes or made copies themselves?,” Sifiso asked.
” The stranger only gave these five people instructions without telling them what’s in the envelopes,” the lawyer said closing his laptop.
” Yeah but they could have opened the envelopes on their own and saw what’s inside,” replied Sifiso pouring himself a glass of whiskey.
” I called in a few favours through my contacts. I managed to dig into their medical records, place of birth , occupation biological data and geographic locations,” the lawyer said. ” It turns out the stranger used their lack of sight as insurance for their confidentiality,” the lawyer continued.
“I don’t know who is more intelligent between you and the stranger, but I got to say Shadrack, I’m impressed,” Sifiso said sitting down on a chair.
“Talk to me Shadrack! Any progress in our mutual obstacle,” asked Sifiso fastening a belt around his waist staring himself on the bathroom mirror with a toothbrush inside his mouth.
” I managed to kill them all sir,” replied the lawyer on the other side of the call.
“And how exactly did you do that , I hope there are no loose end this time?” asked Sifiso tucking his shirt into his pants.
” I managed to spike each of their home water supply with poison, since they are all blind. I disguised myself as a plumber and took care of each of them,” the lawyer said.
” I have to say I’m impressed with your dark efforts Shadrack, job well done ,” appreciated Sifiso as he sprayed himself with a bottle of expensive cologne.” I have to go Shadrack, I’m meeting a very important client this morning, I don’t want to be late, ” Sifiso tightened a tie around his neck and grabbed his briefcase on the table.”Oh, I almost forgot I’ll be sure to wire some cash into your account this evening, you’ll probably be notified by the bank tomorrow morning,” says Sifiso searching through his pockets looking for his car keys.
“Don’t worry about it sir. I’ll only serve when called upon,” said the lawyer.
