Thabiso

I rotate the card between my fingers, I took a deep breath gaining the courage to call Dikeledi. I was ready to change my life for the better and that meant one thing and one thing alone, having to change my ways. I quickly take out my phone under the pillow and dialed the number before I lost any of my gained courage.

the phone rang twice before it was answered I cleared my throat before I spoke “Hello? Its Thabiso.”

“Hey Thabiso I have been waiting for your call, I’m glad that you got to call me. I want you come work for me at the club that I’m building right at this second.”

Not believing my ears, I jumped up from the bed and smiled “You are hiring me.” never would I have ever thought that someday I would be actually hired at a legitimate place.

Dikeledi laughed a little over the phone “Yes I am, I don’t want to see such a young man wasting his life like that, I would love us to meet during this week to iron out some of the details. I’ll give you a call when I’m less busy.” we both said our goodbyes as soon as the call ended I sat on the bed and smiled, it all felt like a dream. like someone will wake me up right at this second.

“I’m going to make you proud mom.” I said in a whisper as i held my hands in a praying position.
