Sindie

I fixed my hair quickly with my hands, I turned and looked at Shawn who was buttoning his shirt. “How do I look?” He looked at me licking his lips “You are mmmhm.” He playfully said as he rubbed his beard. ever since our car date we could no longer keep our hands to ourselves, every chance we found we got to do it, either in the closet, the library, in the garage and all of this excited me knowing that I have my own little secret was what made this whole thing much sweeter

I rolled my eyes with a small smile on my face. Not believing that I was the one who got to hold him and kiss him anyway I wanted, nothing could even beat waking up next to him at those days when Ndumiso was not around.

I wrapped my arms around him and smiled “I don’t want this moment to end.” I said making a sad face. He brushed my hair and kissed my forehead “Me too, Soon it will you be you, me, and Naledi out of this place I promise that I will get you out.”

This has been what comforted me at those days when Ndumiso was around, knowing that someday I will get out of here with him by my side.

I fixed my dress and gave him one last kiss “I’ll see you later?”

“Later.”

I got out first wiling the smile from face as I got out of the pantry and walked outside as if I was going to get a breath of fresh air.

Shawn

I walked out of the pantry room 5 minutes after Sindie had already left just to make sure that no one was lurking behind. I headed to the office the only place I usually hide out when wanting to get away from everything.

I stopped on my tracks finding Ndumiso there looking out of the window with glass of whiskey in his hand.

“I didn’t know that you were here.” Knowing very well that he had 3 hours to come back or maybe he heard something.

I slowly walked inside and stood at the centre of the room not bothering taking a seat.

“My meeting ended sooner than I expected.” He said moving from the window and went to take a seat behind the table and nodded for me to take my seat too.

“Tell me Shawn.” He spoke as I took my seat facing him, his eyes never leaving mine “What would you say for example that you are with your friend and leave out R1000 rand on the table trusting him not to take it the minute you head out leaving him alone only to find out that he took the money and lied about it even though people told you but you chose to believe that no my friend will never do that never. What will you do?”

He knew, I didn’t have to probe him trying to gauge him not to talk indirectly. He knew and that only meant one thing I have to take Sindie and Naledi out of here, I mean out of everyone I was the one who knew exactly what he did to people who betray him.

“Uh confront him and see if he would tell the truth.”

He nodded as if whatever I said he took in mind.

“What were you busy with?” He asked taking a sip of his whiskey.

“Out doing errands nothing much.” He nodded “A whiskey?”

I kept a straight face and shook my head “I’m good.”

He nodded without breaking his contact with me. From now on I knew that I have to thread carefully from here on wards, one wrong move could end deadly.
