Thandiwe

Something woke me up, I rubbed the sleep and got out of bed leaving Sello deep in his sleep.

I went to the window and saw someone in the garden. I squinted my eyes to get a better look but the person was still there not moving, the person felt like was starring straight at her. She turned around to wake Sello up but bumped into someone, she almost screamed and settled down when she saw that it was Sello.

“I saw someone in the garden.” I said turning back to the window but this time there was no one there.

“Maybe it was all in your head, come back to bed.”

I looked one more time but still there was no one there, I reluctantly turned around and went back to the bed.

“It could be the change of environment.” He said as he spooned me and held me tight, “I won’t let anything happen to you.”

Soon he was asleep but I was still up, I looked at the watch and saw that it was a little over past two, I laid there hoping that sleep will come by very soon.

Just as I was about to catch some sleep something woke me up again, it felt like I was hearing footsteps creaking on the floor or a sound of wind coming through but the windows were closed.

I turned around to look at Sello, he was not yet up. I shook my head “It’s all in my head.” I said and covered myself with a blanket and soon I was also fast asleep
