Sindie
My eyes were red from all the crying that I have been doing, I wanted nothing more than to just lie in bed and not do anything but cry, even though Simon insisted I could not bring myself to just lie there the whole day doing nothing but just thinking about Shawn was not a good idea.
I watched as Naledi and Lloyd playing with building blocks.
I just couldn’t tell them about their father, I could not bring myself to, Simon walked in with a cup of tea and handed it to me “I added lemon.” He said as he sat down besides me.
“We have to talk about the funeral,” He said in a lower voice so that the children will not hear “I can help plan it with you.”
I nodded and turned to look at him “What must I do now?” I asked “Shawn was my life without him I’m nothing Simon, how must I do this life thing without him? I miss him so much that it hurts so bad.”
“What I know is that you must have take it one step at the time.”
I took a sip of the tea and held the cup in between my hands and looked out the window as if I’ll see him walk in that gate but he doesn’t which breaks my heart even more.
