“But Blue? It will make room too… Dark. Don’t you think?”

I rolled eyes “It’s not for you to decide, if Naledi wants her room to be blue then that’s what we’ll give her.”

“Fine.” He said kissing me on the forehead. “When do you want to decorate the bedroom “Sometime this week.”

This has been what was happening in the past few years, a life without any chaos. After seeing Ndumiso in jail I was able to sleep peacefully without having to wonder when or where he was going to show up.

I turned to look at Shawn, he carried on and on about the room being too dark during these part few years he has been my pillar of strength, I don’t know where I would have been if he was never by my side.

“Mama.” Lloyd came running and hugged my legs. “Hey baby.” I said as I picked him up and placed him on the chair besides me. I still can’t believe how Lloyd Shawn is a splitting image of his father, it was like I was looking at another photocopy of Shawn.

“You hungry?” he shook his head as he chew on his apple. He is the definition of peace, having to be pregnant by him when Ndumiso was going to jail tells me how peace is.

“Excuse me.” Shawn said as he answered his ringing phone.

“What do you wanna do today?” I asked Lloyd as I took a sip of my milkshake. He looked up as if he was thinking real hard about his answer “Play in the park, get 5 ice creams, and…” I tuned Lloyd out as soon as Shawn came back looking pale as if he had seen a ghost.

“What’s wrong?” I asked as I stood up and went over to him “Talk.”

he looked at me a if he was afraid to speak when he had mastered enough courage he opened his mouth “Ndumiso is out from jail.”

Everything went blank, my mind became clouded
