Next day morning

I was awaken up by a from my sleep by the aroma coming from the kitchen. Mom was preparing my favourite butter porridge. ” Good morning my favourite person” i greeted my mom embracing her with a hug . She kissed me on the forehead closing the pot on the stove.

I freshened myself because I knew mom wouldn’t let me eat before brushing my teeth. When I finished I went to join mom eating. While we were eating mom saw a red car parking at our gate. I noticed it was Mr Dlamini’s car. He opened the gate and knocked on out door. I opened the door for him. Mom was shocked to see him.

” Good mornings sir” I greets him.

” Morning Everyone” he lit up a smile walking to where mom was sitting.

” Hope please go to your room” mom requested. I went to my room without hesitation. But I eavesdropped their conversation.

” What are you doing here Mr Dlamini” mom briefly asked.

” I can see millions of questions written in your eyes Zanele” I was confused when Mr Dlamini called mom by her name. So they know each other.

” I have left you for many years ago. Believe me for all these 14 years I was living my life with regrets. I looked for you when I was done with University. I am incomplete without you and I know that I need you more than you need me. You were the love of my life, you are still the love of my life and you will always be. I knew that I’ll see you one day. I left you pregnant and I didn’t see any mistake during that time but now I have realised my mistake. I am ready to rectify it. I have turned into a cruel man but I hid it from everyone But I couldn’t hide it from Hope. Please forgive me for all the wrong things I have done to you. Let us start a new life. It will be me, you and Our beautiful daughter Hope” he confessed.

The eavesdropping is quite interesting. So Mr Dlamini is my dad. It seems like he is a good man.

” How can you be so sure that Hope is your daughter and I haven’t moved on with my life” mom asked. ” I know you Zanele, you haven’t moved on” he said confidently.

” I was incomplete without you but Hope patched your space in my life. How about my dreams that were snatched from me Bayanda. You promised me love but you left me with pain. Can you return me the 14 years? ” I heard my mom’s voice cracking.

I couldn’t help it but I came out of my room and went to Mr Dlamini. I embraced him with a hug . Mom snatched me from his arms harshly. ” Don’t be fooled by this man’s words” she frowned.

” Mom you always taught me to forgive others so why can’t we give father a second chance. Let’s forget about the past and focus on the future. For all these years I have been waiting for my father mom. Now he is here. He hasn’t moved on in his love and you haven’t either this and it is all because of your love. Mom, dad is your true love and you can never change that fact” i lectured mom as she always does.

” I am so sorry my daughter for all the hatred that I’ve given you at school. I will never do it again” said Mr Dlamini.

Mom embraced both me and My father. My dream has finally come true. I found out who is my father.
