Now that I was by myself in the room, I began to shiver as if ice had been implanted in place of my spine. my whole body was engulfed in the chilly air. I began examining the house. In all honesty, it wasn’t lovely; rather, it was spooky, albeit gothic so. I merely stated that in jest. There were antique paintings and portraits on the wall to my right, including one of Monalisa by Leonard da Vinci. There were a few holes on the wall next to the portraits. The shattered crystal string chandelier lights kept flickering. As I shifted my head to the left, I saw small black spiders winding toward their prey and cobwebs covering the door corners. My right eye’s corner caught a glimpse of a shadow while my eyes were still fixated on the spiders; when I turned to look, it had vanished. Then, from one corner to the next, there were stuttering movements. I suddenly turned around and screamed in terror as I felt a phantom hand touch my shoulder area from behind.

“Ahhh!”

“Oh I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. Are you okay?” enquired Sabrina, who looked very disturbed.

“Am alright, i was not expecting anyone to touch me.” I said, not allowing myself to talk about what just happened.

“Forgive me again, anyway this is my husband Havoc, and son Arachna.” she said pointing at the two people she came back with. The one she said was her husband looked like he was in his late 40’s and the son was just a teenager, probably 14 or 15.

“ I am pleased to meet you.”

“ Likewise.” said the husband, who seemed a bit cold and distant.

“We are honestly exhilarated about your arrival, let us all go to the dining room so that we can furthermore discuss why we called you, and if you would be able to help us.” said Sabrin after a few seconds of silence in the room.

“After you.” I said, while following Sabrina and her family up the stairs.

I shuddered as I walked up the old, bent stairs. Rats were screeching, and my tongue was covered in dust that was drifting through the air. The seats in the dining room jerked back and titled toward me as soon as we entered, extending a cordial invitation by an impregnable host. For a moment I was scared, then I remembered that I have seen much scarier things than this.

“You may take a seat.”Sabrina said, pointing her hand to a brown wooden chair next to me.

I took a seat, and unleashed my tan samsonite garment bag and placed it on the floor. I had been caring for it since I left home.Havoc and Arachna also sat down, on the chairs that were facing me.

“ Can I get you something to drink, or eat.?” enquired sabrina who was still standing.

“ Yes please, can I have strong black, hot coffee with fragrant coriander seeds?”

“Just give me a few minutes, I’ll come with it.” said Sabrina leaving the dining room.

I was now with Havoc and his son who were seated next to me. Havoc’s body was trembling, sweat trickled down his brow, and he groaned, making it difficult for me to determine whether he was in pain or how he was feeling. He inhaled, and it felt like his breath was searing her body with pain.
