It was finally lunchtime, and I couldn’t be more happier. Entering the cafeteria, I searched for the seat furthest away from everyone. After a minute, I found a seat in the corner of the cafeteria. No one ever sits here, so this could always be my go-to seat. I never ate from the cafeteria, because I brought my own lunch. I’m not gonna lie though, the cafeteria’s food was bad. I didn’t want to be disrespectful so I just didn’t eat it. That would be bad if I threw it away.
When I finally thought that I could have some peace and quiet, I got bothered. I got disturbed by none other than Grace. Grace was one of my sister’s best friends. Their friend group is so cringe, matter of fact, I don’t think it’s real. Their ‘’friendship’ is so fake that they gossip about each other. I think they only friends with Kenzie and Grace, because they’re popular.
“Aww, are you tired of seeing us outside? Cause I see you found a new sitting spot.”
“We should join her, don’t you think?”
I stayed silent as I continued eating my lunch. I guess I was wrong when I thought I could have some peace. This girl just knows how to get on my nerves.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Cat got your tongue?”
I still stayed silent, and I could see that my silence was bothering her.
“Answer me damnit!” She says as she slams her hands in the table. This got the attention of everyone in the cafeteria.
“Can you please leave?”
“Oh! So she can talk?”
“Can you please leave?” I asked her annoyed.
“No.”
“What do you want Grace? I owe you nothing!”
“Watch your tone with me!”
“There’s no way I’m listening to a gold digger.”
Grace lifts her hand and slaps me against my cheek. I immediately touch my cheek, and felt a burning sensation. I looked up at her, and see her smirk. Looking around at everyone, I saw that some people had their phones out. The anger inside me just got worst.
I know that she did not just do that. After slapping me, she proceeds to take my lunch, and throw it on the floor. This was her entertaining everyone watching. Her friends then decided to gang up on me,one of them stood behind me and pulled my head back by my hair. Grace picked up a squashed fry from the floor, and forced it in my mouth. The more it got worse, the more I got angry.
I used my hands, and poked the girl behind me in the eyes, resulting in her letting me go. Standing up from my seat, I hit punched Grace in the face until I saw her nose bleed. Her group of friends didn’t do anything, they were just standing there instead. I then grabbed Grace by her ponytail, and made her look at me. She kept scratching me with her long, acrylic nails.

I kept punching her until I was satisfied. Grace started crying in my arms, begging me to let her go. I couldn’t stop, I didn’t want to, she deserves whatever comes her way. I’ve had enough! The schools principle came to the cafeteria, upon hearing the chaos. I finally let her go, and shoved her to the ground.
“Grace and Audrey! My office! Right now!”
“Great! Thank you Grace, thank you for putting me in trouble for something you started.”
I bumped into her while I walked past her, making her bump into the wall. She knocked her head against the wall. Grabbing my bag, I made my way to the principals office. Upon entering the office, she instructs us to take a seat.
“Explain what the hell happened in the cafeteria.”
“She started first.” Grace points to me.
“No, I didn’t. Don’t play the innocent game with me, you started first and now you’re trying to play the victim.”
The principal puts her hand up, telling us to keep quiet. We both shut up immediately, and Mrs Martinez leans back into her chair, carefully looking at the both of us.
“Audrey, please start from the beginning.”
A while later we both exit the principles office, with Grace looking extra sour. She then pulls me back by my arm, and I pull my arm back.
“Because of you, I got suspended.”
“It’s not my fault, in case you have memory loss, you started the whole thing first.”I walked away but she kept following me.
“How come you get 1 day of suspension, and I get two?!”
“Get to class Grace.”
“THIS ISN’T OVER AUDREY!!”
“Silence in the hallway grace, get back to class!”
“Sorry Mrs Martinez.” She says as she makes her way to the nurse’s office.
When I got home I went up to my room, I didn’t bother greeting them because they avoid me. Walking through the doors, the house felt so empty, like no one lived there. When I reached my room I dropped my bag, and went to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and let the water run, until it was nice and warm. I removed my clothes and took out a new pair of underwear and my comfy pj’s. I head to the shower, and took my own sweet time. While in there I could feel all my problems and stress going down the drain.
Once I was done and dressed I took out my school books. I prepared everything on my desk, and went back downstairs. I made myself a cup of tea, and took some snacks and headed back upstairs. A while later I heard my dad call my name. When I reached the living room, he and my sister Kenzie were standing there with their suitcases ready.
“Me and Kenzie are going away for a week or two, here’s a list of things that you need to do. When we return, this house needs to be clean.” He said as he handed me a list.
“Why are you making me do this?”
“This is your punishment for fighting at school.”
“But I never started the fight, Grace did!”
“Whatever I don’t want to hear any excuses from you. When I get back, that list better be ticked off.”
I stared at the list as they both walked out to the car. On the way out, Kenzie flips a finger at me knowing very well that I won’t do it back. If I ever showed her middle finger, she would tell my dad even if she started first. I rolled my eyes and made my way to the kitchen, I put the page on the fridge with a magnet. I then went back to my room and finished my studying. Since I was suspended, I thought that maybe I could do all of that tomorrow, it wouldn’t be that bad.
