It was a Sunday morning when Nomsa woke up to heavy rain. It was her anniversary when her long-time boyfriend and had planned a beautiful romantic gateway for the whole week. She reached her phone and called her boyfriend but his phone was off she kept calling thinking that it might be the network but still went straight to voicemail. She decided that she will call him later maybe his phone is battery low since he was out drinking the previous night.
Nomsa woke up took a shower and started preparing for the surprise gate away that she had planned. Listening to some old rnb dancing around the house and feeling all kinds of in love. It was around 11 when he tried calling but still it was taking her to voicemail. She saw that time was starting to run out so she decided to drive to her boyfriend’s house with all that she will need. She is done with the payment of the booking has been made, the present is ready everything is up to standard. The only person left is the boyfriend. His name is Tom. She put everything in her car lock the house apartment door and of she goes to the boyfriend’s place.
Nomsa is a very educated woman she has graduated 3 times and she works at one of the biggest accounting firms in South Africa which is PWC. She could afford everything she wanted without bothering anyone but when it came to her boyfriend she always humbled herself and made the boyfriend be seen first before her. She didn’t want to let down his muscle.
As she’s driving on the road smiling having her very own beautiful moments and admiring the day as she’s celebrating 4 years with her boyfriend. As she arrived at the boyfriend’s place the security guards already know her so they didn’t give her any problem at the gate, she drove in went to her boyfriends flat took out her keys, Tom gave her spare keys so that she won’t struggle whenever she wants to come over.
She opens the door with a very huge smile went inside didn’t want to make a noise because she didn’t want to wake Tom up. As she entered the bedroom she saw Tom with 2 women in bed. She couldn’t believe it and just wanted an explanation of the whole thing that was happening. She roughly woke Tom up and demanded an explanation all Tom did was just look at her and go back to sleep. Nomsa started shouting at Tom but he didn’t care.
It was their anniversary Nomsa had big things planned out it was either she forgets what she saw and ask Tom to wake up and get ready or she seats him down and let him explain himself but since Tom didn’t want to explain himself Nomsa had to just leave the place heartbroken left Tom and the two ladies. He didn’t even bother to run after her.
From there she knew that her day has been ruined all she has to do is to go home take a long shower to have some wine and sleep. She couldn’t even drive properly on the way because everything was too much for her and the fact that Tom didn’t even want to say a word to her. She got home took a long shower canceled all that was planned out for the weekend and fell asleep when she woke up she decided to call Tom but he didn’t answer his phone kept on trying to call him but still no answer.
The next day in the morning she woke up to a message coming from Tom saying “You are a nuisance and our relationship bores me you are no fun but a nerd I’ve decided to get my type and those that are on the same level as me” Nomsa broke down emotionally crying her lungs out as if she has been told of the death of a relative for 4 years loving the same guy only to find out that she’s been a bore to him all along. Nomsa became depressed didn’t know what to do next. She literally put herself low so that his boyfriend can take control of everything. She even acted stupid at times because she has the belief that women shouldn’t act smarter than men.
She told herself that she wants nothing but just a break away from everyone got tired of always being asked where Tom is. So one night she decided to ask a friend to go out clubbing with her.
Nomsa is not the clubbing type she drinks but prefers doing it at home indoors not at a crowded place but since Tom told her that she is a bore she decided to go out and drink a dance at a club. She went with her friend, they dressed up all sexy, had a beautiful facebeat and had some heels on. They danced the whole night filled up the table until some guys decided that to join them. Nice clean handsome Xhosa men they all head nice trimmed beard and bald head. One of them was a bit darker and showed a little interest in Nomsa. Nomsa has just got out of a relationship but she just told herself that it wouldn’t hurt to just get naughty for the night. She got too drunk and ended up finding herself with the guy. The night went on.
Nomsa woke up the next morning not even sure what happened. As she looked next she saw a note from the guy saying “I am off to the gym I didn’t want to wake you up I figured out that you must be too tired from last night but if you don’t mind you can wait for me till I come back since I’m not far or you can go home don’t worry about looking my helper is around” Nomsa didn’t hesitate but to immediately dress up and leave before the guy comes back. She quickly requested an Uber and went home. She doesn’t remember the guy’s name she doesn’t even know what happened the previous night.
After 2 weeks she went out to do some grocery shopping at a shopping center close to where she stays. There was a guy busy staring at her she couldn’t understand why the guy was busy staring at her the guy got closer to her and she saw that it was the guy from the club, it was so awkward for her but she just had to smile along and pretend to be cool. Guy offered to take her out for dinner or lunch some other time but Nomsa refused and told the guy that she doesn’t want any date the guy told her that it will be casual a friendly date then she agreed. The hot Xhosa dark guy’s name is Lusapho. They exchanged numbers.
Two days later Lusapho texted her reminding her about the casual lunch/dinner. Nomsa agreed to dinner because she was working till late. Lusapho did reservations and Nomsa offered to just drive herself. They had a very intimate night and Nomsa ended up sharing her story with her ex Tom. The night went by and he asked to see her again. They became very close friends and ended up dating. 7 months into the relationship they didn’t really want to rush things but Lusapho asked her to be his date at his cousin’s wedding the wedding was in Eastern cape Nomsa agreed.
She wanted to be seen and made sure that she designs a very beautiful modern traditional dress. They drive to the Eastern Cape they booked into a hotel because she didn’t want to meet or to be with the family she felt that it was too early. Lusapho then left her and went to greet the elders and help with preparations, he came back in the morning to pick her up and couldn’t believe how beautiful Nomsa was. They drove to the wedding venue and boom when they got there the groom was Tom. Tom is Lusaphos cousin he doesn’t really use the name Tom at home he is called Benathi.
Nomsa couldn’t believe it she felts like she could leave the whole ceremony and go back to the hotel but she remembered that she’s here with Lusapho.
The event started and he got married. At the reception, Lusapho introduced Nomsa to Tom. He was so shocked and too ashamed to look at her. Lusapho couldn’t understand Tom’s behavior but Nomsa told her that it’s Tom the ex. Lusapho laughed at Tom not because he knew that he messed up big time for what she has done to Nomsa. The day continued Lusapho and Nomsa were having their best time and Tom could not believe that Nomsa came to his wedding.
A few days after the wedding Nomsa and Hope her friend that she went clubbing with wondered how can Tom get married because they broke up and it hasn’t been a year. Nomsa decided to ask Lusapho and she found out that Tom has been with the woman for almost 6 years and they even have a child together who is 4 years old. She asked herself how Tom has been doing it all this time but whats good is she managed to leave the relationship before it was too late. She and Lusapho continued having a relationship and made sure that they built trust out of it. Regardless that he is a cousin of Tom.
