The nurse comes back with a file and some medication. She stares at the young lady who’s sitting there filled with sorrow – you could see it in her eyes.
“Isabel,” she calls with a soft and sad voice, “the results are back and I’ve got some bad news sweetheart,”…
There is silence before the nurse continues: ” The results say you’re carrying a baby …you…you’re HIV positive.”
Isabel is so shocked that she just stares at the nurse like she’s just lost her mind. After a few seconds she starts crying and the nurse tries to comfort her and tells her that everything will be okay.
The nurse tells Isabel some protocols and gives her advice on what she has to do. Now it’s time for Isabel to go home and she doesn’t even know how she’s going to face her parents.
