Her mother worked as a domestic worker and she was earning barely enough money to keep body and soul together. When Chanelle, Melissa’s mother scrolled down on her phone she came across a post saying they need a person with a matric. That person should be ready to relocate to Cape Town. Chanelle decided to try her luck and applied for that opportunity.

As weeks were going by and she nearly forgotten about it,an email popped up saying she should come for an interview the next Monday. She asked her madam for a day off and she agreed. Finally she arrived and the interviewer was very nice and she managed to pass it and wait for another call. The next Friday she got a call saying she should come to start on January.
