Your Pool of Love

seemed shallow at first

mellow and wet

enough to conquer my thirst

as the doves sang

while the sun set, and sent

Your smile

sucking in my fears

before I slid in

waved, with amorous gears

and found my pulse rising

as I wafted around you

and lungs moaning

whenever those kisses of you

would submerse us, towards the buttocks

of the pool

Yet as your kisses draw me deeper

and leave my lungs heavier

and in need of more, tongue ties

in order to breathe, down below….

I’ve realized

that I may never be able

to stop loving you

nor swim out of these delicious waters

pooled, by my love for you

So even though

it’s now too late

to float back to the surface

where it all began

Let me slow down, hold you still

look into your eyes,

And deprive you of that

Last kiss

Just so my lips and lungs

can take in

as much of your love

and drown enough

to float back to surface

Even if that means

Losing you

just to reach the surface again

and touch the sun once more

even with, my eyes forever closed
